About this courseThis course has a unique pluralistic approach. You’ll discover a wide variety of economic theories and schools of thought, learning to understand and address problems from a range of perspectives. You’ll study why businesses, people, and governments make decisions and the consequences of these decisions.The course focuses on real-life applications of economics. You’ll explore how businesses operate in the economy and can choose to study the financial aspects of business and specialist aspects of economics.You’ll also use industry-standard IT facilities and develop many further skills that are highly valued by employers, including analytical, numerical, data analysis, and problem-solving skills, and the use of specialist statistical software.
This course is offered with a Foundation Year in Social SciencesThis foundation year is taught at the University giving you a taste of academic life in a supportive environment. The year gives you the academic and technical preparation for undergraduate study in a wide range of social sciences subjects. Lectures, labs and tutorials will give you a broad understanding across subjects including economics, criminology, politics, sociology and psychology.
