The best aspects of my Uni experience is expanding my network and meeting new people. There are so many opportunities and chances to go to events where you can really put yourself out there in the best way possible and meet some really interesting people! The worst aspects of my uni experience would most likely be waking up early in the mornings to get to my 9am seminars on time. But once im there, its not so bad and there are others in my seminar group that are in the same situation as me and can relate so at least im not waking up at 7am on my own!
I love waking up to an online lecture, saves me having to get ready and transport to my lecture building. The worst aspects of my course is when I missed a tutor drop-in session and I feel as if they won't reply in time before my submission or exam date. However all tutors I have attempted to get into contact with have replied within good time.
Everything is in the city which I love as everything you need is basically at your doorstep and completely accessible!
In first year, I stayed in GSN (Gill Street North) top floor in D block. Looking back, and I'm sure many others were in the exact same position as me, I was feeling anxious and nervous to arrive at university and meet new people as I was unsure what to expect especially not having already been to an open day. However, I am already quite an extrovert and bubbly person so it wasn't too difficult to socialise with people I haven't met before and also get to know my flatmates more. There were also, helpfully, moving in volunteers provided by the university to help navigate across the campus and give you any help if you needed it. Halls are so expensive though and for nearly £200 a week you'd expect a lot more value for your money. The cleaning wasn't persistent, although when they did come they did an amazing job. The WIFI in halls wasn't the best and the connection always went on and off. The accomodation felt safe with the electronic gates controlled by reception, but at times the gate was left open and there was no security around the accom not that I could see anyway. But tbf the blocks, flat door and our rooms had locks on them so I felt pretty safe - especially being with 7 others in my flat. I absolutely loved the fact that there was no fair usage policy with hot water as well so you could have a long shower without feeling too guilty, the ovens however werent of the best quality and often burned my food even if it wasnt in there for that long or it would undercook in the middle even after being in there for a long time.
The vibe of each campus is different. City Campus has some aesthetic appeal whereas Clifton Campus is spread across the vibrant open space. The libraries are well maintained and the facilities are at par as per the United Kingdom standards. No doubt on why university has won multiple awards in the recent past.
I feel Nottingham Trent University has a very good faculty for Computer Science course. The tutors are approachable and and they are quick to respond to our questions and queries. I feel tutors need to ask questions to the students when no student has asked any doubts post their explanation, this approach will make student be more attentive in the fear of getting picked up by the tutor for the question related to the content taught
Overall, I have great experience here at NTU. The university is at the city centre so it's very convenient. My course tutors are all very supportive and communicative. I see that there are a lot of events for both home and international students, for example Global week, etc. One thing that need to be improved is the timetable. Sometimes the time is set a bit confused.
I really like my course content. We only need to attend about 8 hours/week at school and the rest of the week is our independant time. We can sign up for other workshops or using other facilities such as library, Mac suite, etc. My lecturers are responsive and give me good advice for my projects. I have learned so much.
The study environment is very supportive. I can open my mind and try new things which are very useful for my future career. My tutor encourages me so much and always is so nice to help me. I reckon that the public restroom in Waverly building where I study my course should be cleaned up more frequently. I used others in Boots Library and Newton Building and find they are cleaner.
Tutors care about students’ works a lot and it’s easy to contact with my lecturers
My lecturers are all very passionate and have inspired me to continue studying

Had mould but everything else was fine
I have absolutely loved my experience so far at NTU. There are heaps of societies and sports clubs to join which has really helped me make lots of friends and feel at home here. There is plenty of student support and the quality of the lecture and seminar content is pretty good. Something I love about NTU is it really supports you in extra curricular endeavours, the uni give you so many opportunities for personal and professional development as well as volunteering and employability events and from what I have experienced so far, I believe this uni will put you in a fantastic position in terms of graduate prospects. if you make the most of what is offered here. Living on city campus is fantastic, in the heart of the city centre there is so much on offer in Nottingham. The nightlife is fab and I've had some memorable nights out here.
Our course is mostly taught in person which I really like, its much more engaging than online classes. Nottingham Business School facilities are fantastic and really modern. Some lecturers are engaging and really enthusiastic which makes learning more fun and enjoyable. However, I believe there can be some very poor quality seminar tutors which lack enthusiasm and honestly can be extremely boring and difficult to understand.
There is so much in Nottingham, shopping, bars and nightclubs. The tram and buses are regular and reliable. I think its quite safe especially around the student areas on city campus. It is difficult to find a oart time job though.
I made a great decision deciding to stay at Byron Residence. The location is fantastic, on campus and extremely close to city centre. My kitchen is spacious and there is plenty of kitchen storage. In the bedroom, you only get a single bed but you do get an en suite shower room. There is plenty of storage in the bedroom and a huge desk and wardrobe. The laundry facilities are modern and there is plenty of washers and dryers, its rare to have to wait for one to become free, however the laundry is expensive and considering you already pay quite a premium price for the accommodation, the laundry should be cheaper. I think the accommodation is slightly overpriced as I feel you can get bigger bedrooms, with double beds etc for cheaper even in the city centre. But I do not regret my decision to stay here whatsoever, I have loved staying at Byron it feels like home! I have friendly flatmates and met some great people here. There is 24/7 security and I felt pretty safe here. Maintenance issues are solved mostly in a satisfactory timeframe.
Nottingham Trent has made me feel so welcome, and the friends I have made are the best. however, some of my tutors treat us more like we have been here forever when we have not, This is our first time at university, but they are not treating us like it is
I really love architecture, and I am grateful that I have a chance to study it. However, i think we could have more contact hours with our tutors
Beautiful campus with an amazing rural feel, pretty much every thing you need on campus. Only thing is that buses to and from brack to city dont run throughout the night during the week, as makes it's hard to go out in the week, uni could do what they did at fresher's with a bus taking students to and from club
Great mix of practical and written, my course leader is amazing, is always there to support you
Wifi is faulty sometimes but are in a rural location, paths get flooded easily. Good level of security.
great location, straight in the city centre with likeminded people
my course is very content heavy and competitive whilst also being engaging and enjoyable
Best aspects of my university is that it has all the facilities which a student needs, from basic needs to course related. All the staffs and fellow student are very helpful and encouraging. They lecturers are also very cooperative and experinced. Nottingham Trent University has Modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, extensive libraries, and advanced technology infrastructure to support learning and research. My university also has Cultural events, guest lectures, arts programs, and community engagement activities that promote cultural understanding, social responsibility, and civic engagement. The only part which I dont like about my university is the large class sizes which make it difficult to receive individualized attention from professors and hinder interactive learning experiences.
Cybersecurity is a rapidly evolving field with increasing demand for skilled professionals. A good cybersecurity course will provide up-to-date knowledge and skills that are directly applicable to real-world scenarios and industry needs. Practical, hands-on experience is crucial in cybersecurity. Quality courses often include labs, simulations, and projects that allow students to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings, enhancing their problem-solving abilities and technical skills. Courses taught by experienced professionals or experts in the field offer valuable insights, industry best practices, and mentorship opportunities. Learning from instructors with practical experience can significantly enrich the educational experience. The field of cybersecurity evolves rapidly due to emerging threats, new technologies, and evolving regulations. Keeping up with the latest trends and staying ahead of cyber threats can be challenging and require continuous learning and adaptation.
Pavallion at my university is a vibrant hub of activity that never fails to inspire a sense of belonging and community. Nestled at the heart of the campus, it serves as a dynamic meeting point where students from diverse backgrounds come together to connect, collaborate, and unwind amidst the bustling academic environment. What I particularly enjoy about this space is its inviting atmosphere, characterized by comfortable seating areas, ample natural light, and lively conversations echoing through the air. Whether it's grabbing a coffee with friends between classes or finding a quiet corner to study solo, the versatility of the common area caters to a wide range of needs and preferences. Its has all the facilites at one place, so we dont need to go anywhere else. On busy days the Pavallion gets too crowded. So something even seating area is hard to find. This is the only part which I dont like about my university hall.
