Facilities and library good Lack of student union as the library and Annie's are the only social place to hang out
Isolating at first. Need to find friends quick or everyone will gwt into their own groups and itll be awkward trying to join in. Lots of online stuff and few hours axtually on campus - was surprising how little you have schedueled compared to 6th form.
Great place to study, lots of extra support and an excellent support structure, excellent blended learning and multiple consistent opportunities.
As a direct entrant I’ve had a really good experience so far with the university , it is by far the best support I’ve had and the modern campus is amazing! All staff are so supportive and friendly
As a distance-learning student, I find that having our classes on teams has been great way for me to get know my classmates and feel like I am actually participating in the lesson and not just watching videos, as I have at some other institutions.
Very easily accessible next to bus stops and trains. University is very easy to navigate and has a good chill atmosphere. Learning resources are always uploaded in great time and are easy to find. Really enjoyed my experience at abertay!
The best aspect of abertay is the library and the worst aspect is the parking facilities for students.
Abertay has been a great University with supportive lecturers and support staff. The classes are more interactive than what I had anticipated since coming up from college. Coursework feedback is clear and given in a constructive manner. Annies Cafe is great on campus during the day for coffee and a lunch but would be good if the union had a bar for later on for the sake of both Dundee's night life societies to meet at rather than having to use alternate places.
Post graduate office is a nice place to work. Staff are helpful and friendly. Feel very well supported. The worst part of the university experience at Abertay is the feel of the campus. It's like coming into an office complex more than a university. If the main roads in front of the university and the library could have a more pedestrian feel and contained more student focused 'third places', I reckon that would do wonders.
Personally it's been great to meet other people in class who have the same interest in the subjects covered in our units and all the lecturers have been great!
