Overview
This course is also available as an Extended Master's that helps International students adjust to studying in the UK.
Explore health on an international scale with an MSc in Global Public Health. On this course, you’ll undertake an interdisciplinary approach so you can graduate with a deeper understanding of public health worldwide.
Public health crosses local and national dimensions. As the modern world continues with mass migration and an increase in the global economy, solving health issues must be considered through a global lens. You’ll study the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and public health challenges that contribute to global inequalities, which will enable you to challenge public health on an international scale.
Our Global Public Health degree will cover both international and national priorities for people’s health and wellbeing highlighted by the World Health Organization, the UK Department of Health and Social Care, and other bodies that are key drivers behind the UK and global public health workforce strategies.
You will engage with evidence-based practice, which will enhance your skills in critical thinking, scholarship, and research. Not only this, but you’ll have the opportunity to network with stakeholders within the School and beyond through academic input, research, and knowledge exchange.
If you are looking to enter a career in public health practice and research at a local, national, or international level, then an MSc in Global Public Health will give you the specialist skills and knowledge for you to become an effective global health practitioner.
A relevant first degree. Consideration is given to other applicants who have experience of working in the field of practice relevant to their proposed study and a cover letter to demonstrate this.
