Staff listen to student feedback and implement changes when required. The course timetabling is very last minute but the content and quality cannot be faulted.

My course has a blended learning (online pre-recorded activities and in person lectures and seminars), which personally works well. I believe one of the worst aspects of my course is the job market, as I feel it's really difficult to find one, although I have been applying for so many. Overall I do like it and am happy with how they structured it, although I would have liked to have many more mental disorders focused lectures.

I really liked the location as it was very close to campus (however, very far from the shops which was a downside). I really liked it although the value for money was not as good as I expected it to be, I found it to be a little expensive for me. The laundromats were also a negative point as so many of them would break so often and would not get fixed for several days.

The lecturers are really eager for you to contact them should you have a question. Also, your one-to-one teaching is really good and you create a good relationship with your tutor each semester.

Very good, the showers are wet rooms which is kind of annoying but apart from that it is lovely!

All our lectures are in person; maybe more interactive learning during lectures would help with my understanding of the content .

The nature of my course means that most of it is in-person teaching, comprised of a mixture of small group teachings, lectures, anatomy practicals, clinical case studies, self-guided study and sorting out difficulty sessions. The course hours are long and my schedule during the week is normally packed, and always changes from week to week. Most of the lecturers are very helpful, and always provide their contact details should you need any help and need to contact them. Placements are always a highlight of my course too, in which we attend them every fortnight. However, the only thing is we don't get reimbursed transport-wise for our placements unfortunately.

Ashcroft is definitely the best value-for-money university hall! Especially for my course, it is less than a 10 minute walk to the medical school and less than 5 minutes to get to the train station. It is so near campus and it is a really ideal location if you prefer being in a quiet area (compared to the loud parties at the Vale). The hub is great here too, and I often study here. Reception staff are mostly lovely too and usually whenever I have logged a maintenance issue, it is sorted out very well most of the time. The wifi is great too, never had an issue with it at all.

Good value for money and good location

I think there could be more communication between staff and students. Sometimes extra lectures are only given a few days before and students work and have other commitments. I think being given our exams back with feedback would be good. At the moment, I have never been given the opportunity to see where I went wrong on my end of modules exams.

It was rather expensive for students considering the state of the economy at the moment.

The course structure is phenomenal because it’s mainly in-class learning which allows time for interaction with students, as well as opportunity to speak with lecturers. And the hours aren’t too bad, it’s a full time course so some long days are expected. However, more online classes would be appreciated as they are very rare.
