Oxford Brookes understands the need for a well-resourced and effective student services department, and offers plenty of support and advice tailored to students’ individual needs.
The Centre for Academic Development is the hub for learning support, offering one-to-one tutorials, group workshops and online resources. All students have a personal academic adviser and can turn to student support coordinators in their faculty. Brookes has specialist dyslexia and disability advisers, academic liaison librarians, and offers English language support.
Oxford Brookes provides a wide range of wellbeing services to help their students stay physically and mentally healthy, to supply information and advice for those with disabilities, and to offer counselling or mentoring support to help with personal issues. All services are free and confidential, and the university is able to refer individuals to more specialised services, wherever it is required.
