If you have high emotional intelligence, and are good at understanding and relating to people, this course will help you to become effective and skilled in supporting others with achieving their aims and objectives, while developing yourself.

On our course you'll gain a solid grounding in a variety of helping approaches and techniques, so that you can build effective relationships with others in areas such as the voluntary sector, human resources, social care, health and education. In the current climate, demand for these skills in all sectors is increasing as awareness and attitudes to inclusion and mental healthneeds across the population change.Once you have completed your degree, a wealth of career opportunities in everything from HR to social care await you. If you want to pursue a professional career in counselling and qualify as an accredited counsellor, you’ll need to undertake the relevant accredited training.

Location

This course is run at our Canterbury Campus in Kent. Canterbury is just 50 miles south-east of London and less than an hour by high-speed train from St Pancras. Located on a UNESCO World Heritage Site the campus offers state-of-the-art buildings, right in the centre of a vibrant and world-famous cathedral city. You’ll benefit from a campus with excellent learning and teaching resources, music venues, a superb sports centre, a well-stocked bookshop and plenty of coffee bars and places to eat. A short walk away is Augustine House our award-winning library and home to a vast range of learning resources and student support teams.
