Academic entry requirements for students wishing to enrol on an undergraduate degree are typically in the region of ABB-CCC (A-Level), or DDM-MMM (BTEC Diploma).
Most of the university’s foundation degrees require students to have a minimum of DD-EE (A-Level), or PPP (BTEC Diploma).
The university is also able to offer students a place based on their UCAS Tariff Points.
Students must also hold a minimum of five GCSEs at grade A*-C, including English and maths. Some courses may also require at least one GCSE in a science.
English language
International students must provide evidence of their English language proficiency as part of the application process. The English language requirements for students wishing to enrol on an undergraduate or foundation degree programme at Hartpury University is an overall IELTS Academic score of 6.0, or an equivalent qualification.

Hartpury University is the number one English mainstream university for academic support, according to results published by the National Student Survey (2023). This is made possible by the university’s dedicated network of support staff, who are on hand to make sure students have the best experience possible.
Support staff include qualified counsellors, nurses, and wellbeing officers. Hartpury University’s estate boasts its own commercial farm, where students can experience milking, calving, lambing and rearing, and observe and assist with veterinary procedures.
Students have access to the government-backed Digital Innovation Farm project and a £2 million Agri-Tech Centre.
Equine
A state-of-the-art rider performance centre contains the most advanced riding simulators in the world, a leading equine therapy centre, international competition arenas and stabling for 230 horses.
The university hosts major international equine events and promotes rider development and competition opportunities.
Sports
Facilities include the £10 million Sports Academy where students work with elite athletes across 10 sports academies, and players from Hartpury RFC and Gloucester-Hartpury.
Students enjoy a 1,500m² multi-sports hall, 3G pitches, rugby and football pitches, courts, power and cross-training gyms, biomechanics and human performance labs, and a rehabilitation suite.
Animal
The university’s more than 70 domestic and non-domestic species on-site include invertebrates, reptiles, livestock and exotic species.
A brand-new dog agility arena boasts equipment including an A-frame, a dog walk with poles, flat and cylinder tunnels, weaves, a see-saw, tyres and jumps.
Veterinary nursing
Students have access to the dedicated Veterinary Nursing Clinical Skills Centre, and benefit from extensive on-site specialist facilities across animal, equine and agriculture.
