I have bad issues with lecturers/seminar teachers not turning up on multiple occasions. All of my classes are in person. The lectures often feel rushed and it seems that a lot of the lecturers just read from notes or the PowerPoint. Personally I find lectures not a good learning tool as there is almost no interaction with the lecturers (if they do give the opportunity to ask questions I do not feel comfortable doing so infront of hundreds of people)

I was not initially allocated the room type that I wanted (and requested due to medical reasons) despite there being several of these room types empty. My hall is catered, the food is ok but the portions are small so you end up snacking after dinner. There are different options for dietary requirements however there has been time where I was not allowed to have the food I wanted as it was for ‘vegetarians only’ or ‘halal only’. This is despite the fact that before I moved to the accommodation they asked me my dietary preferences and I explained that I do not much meat and I avoid red meat. There has been occasions where I have thrown my food away and got food elsewhere because I did not get the food that I like (I have autism as well so have ‘safe foods’). They can be very stingy about sides such as the fact that they will not give you baked beans frequently unless you have a jacket potato. Some of the dining staff are really lovely and will learn your name and ask how your day has been. My shared bathroom floods frequently and runs out of toilet paper often (which is meant to be provided). However when I have logged maintenance issues such as the lighting in my room it has been fixed promptly. The Laundry facilities are run by Circuit Laundry and are very poor - they are expensive, dryers aren’t very effective, the machines aren’t cleaned properly/regularly which means that on several occasions my washing has come out with dirt/mould on it that wasn’t on there before. Furthermore, you often have to wait for a machine to be free before using it unless you go late at night as there is not many machines available compared to the amount of work people in the halls.

uni is self-learning anyway. grades of essays are a bit lack of clear standard definition.

the spectrum of quality is great - some of the lecturers are very boring and inexperienced while others know how to engage the students and can talk about their topics easily.

Probably the scattiest accommodation in the country. More often than not, these flats have mice irrespective of cleanliness. Zero exclusive amenities Looks like a prison and feels like it a lot of the time. Many mouldy rooms. rent price far too high for what it is, yet still is the cheapest accommodation at uni.
