About this course
By revenue, the market size of the accounting and auditing industry is £5.8bn in 2022 (Ibis World 2022). This course provides a solid grounding in theory and practice, and an excellent foundation to becoming a qualified accountant. It also provides an opportunity to secure exemptions from all of the major professional accountancy bodies, including the ICAEW, CIMA and ACCA.
Practice with linking theories of accounting to a broad economic, legal and social environment
Learn the basic principles of auditing, investment, finance, taxation and their implications on individuals and organisations
Explore alternative recognition rules and valuation bases
Record, prepare and present financial information using qualitative and quantitative techniques
Understand UNESCO’s Education for Sustainable Development theme of ‘Accountability and Ethics’
This course is delivered as part of a partnership between QA Higher Education and Ulster University. The programme is validated by the University and delivered by QA Higher Education.
Career opportunities

Grades BCC at A-Level, or international equivalent (NARIC) or Merit profile in the UK accredited QCF/NQF Level 3 qualification worth 180 credits and/or 1060 Guided Learning Hours (as defined by Ofqual). The general entry requirements are any of the following: IELTS 6.0 with no band score less than 5.5, or equivalent.
Applicants need to have GCSE grade C in Mathematics, or international equivalent. For applicants whose first language is not English, we accept a variety of English language tests (e.g. 6.0 overall with no less than 5.5 in any band) and they are listed on our International Entry Requirements page.
