Solihull College & University Centre is based in the Birmingham suburb of Solihull and offers courses from post-school age (16yrs) up to degree level.
To provide accreditation for its courses, the college works in partnership with several institutions, including Oxford Brookes, Newman, Coventry and Northampton universities. It also offers HNCs and HNDs through Pearson.
The college has two campuses: Blossomfield Campus near Solihull town centre, and Woodlands Campus in north Solihull.

GET PROSPECTUSFor the BSc (Hons) Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, students will normally be expected to have a BTEC Level 3 Qualification (MMM) or A-Level equivalent in a related subject. They will also need to have a grade C or above in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
For part-time attendance, students may be required to have a minimum of two-years relevant work experience and a current role in an appropriate workplace setting. In addition to this, they need a BTEC Level 3 Qualification (MM) or A-Level equivalent in a related subject, as well as GCSE Maths and English (Grade C).

All students are assigned a personal tutor to offer them support and assistance whilst studying at Solihull College & University Centre. Tutors provide regular feedback about student learning and whether students are staying on track with their studies.
The college has its own Mental Health Service that students can access. This service can help individuals identify any specific needs they may have, can provide practical support, and also refer students to other support services if needed.
Counselling is available for students, and this confidential service can be accessed at both of the college’s campuses.
The college nurse provides advice on health issues, first aid, and advice for students who feel unwell whilst on campus.

It’s now fully equipped with an aviation hangar, aeroplane simulator, wind tunnels and more, to deliver a high-quality course that can lead to further study at postgraduate level, or a career in a relevant industry.
Solihull College & University Centre was chosen to be one of only 12 providers in the country that’s named as an Institute of Technology, specialising in delivering quality, higher level technical education. This education focusses on skilling up students for the workplace; giving employers a talented workforce, and giving students a direct path into employment.
The Institute of Technology is led by employers within the local area so that it provides the education needed to fulfil the technical requirements of the local industry.
The Student Enrichment Team provides additional, fun activities for students, which they can take part in outside of their studies. The student liaison officers plan and deliver exciting trips, themed events, volunteering opportunities, and other activities, throughout the year.
Additionally, the Student Enrichment Team supports Learner Voice, which acts to represent students by giving them the opportunity to tell the college how it’s performing, as well as anything they would like to see improved at the college.
The college hold elections for Student Representatives and Governors of the college, to give students a say in important matters that might affect them, including school funding and the quality of education provided. This provides a great opportunity for students to gain additional skills to take into the workplace after they’ve completed their studies at the college.
The Student Enrichment Team creates regular opportunities for students to join a variety of clubs and societies, as well as take trips throughout the year to places such as Alton Towers and Warner Bros. Studios Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter.
The Enrichment Team's role is to ensure students have access to fun and exciting opportunities outside of their studies so that they can build great experiences and relax. The team also provides additional opportunities for students so that they can develop their skills for the workplace. This is done through various volunteering activities, including fundraising.

A beautiful location with lots of historic architecture, surrounded by gorgeous countryside. The town of Solihull is located just south of Birmingham and has around 200,000 residents.
Solihull has a vibrant town centre with a good mix of shops, cafes, restaurants and a cinema. Solihull has some beautiful natural green areas and parks, including Brueton Park, Tudor Grange Park and Hillfield Park. The railway station provides direct links to nearby Birmingham, as well as London.
Birmingham - Britain’s second largest city, is just a short journey from Solihull. With a large international airport, and rail links to various cities across the UK- students can stay well connected.

There are various scholarship and bursaries available, depending on the age of the learner or student, the course they’re studying, and their individual circumstances.
Students can apply for a tuition fee loan and a maintenance loan through Student Finance. The amount available will depend on personal circumstances.
Special support grants are also available for full-time students, including a Childcare Grant, Parents Learning Allowance and an Adult Dependents Grant.
Students who are working towards a qualification which is delivered in partnership with another higher education institution can apply for grants and scholarships through the partner institution.

You'll be shocked by the number of clubs and societies on offer at Solihull College & University Centre. There's something for everyone! As well as being able to pick different clubs and societies, most courses let you choose modules at different points through your degree.
As well as personalising your course through optional modules, you may have the chance to do a work placement during your studies. Developing your professional skills through work placements is a great way to add to your CV and boost your employability.
If you want a job you love (and who doesn't?), getting a job in a field you're passionate about is a great place to start. By studying a subject you really enjoy, you'll be qualified for a range of jobs relating to that subject, which you'll hopefully love.
