BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Design for Health and Wellbeing has, as its central aim, the re-integration of people’s health and wellbeing into our everyday environments: where we live; where we work; where we learn and where we relax, both physically and mentally. We can easily all think of "unhealthy" environments we have experienced; would we recognise the opposite? In this course you will place human-centred design at the heart of everything you do to transform our environmental experience from debilitation to invigoration. You will graduate from this course as a designer with a complete understanding of the impacts your design choices have on health and wellbeing as well as the necessary tools, knowledge, and skills to support you in creating healthier places for all of us, for now and for the future.During the course you will learn and apply your new knowledge in the design and planning of healthy spaces and places taking into consideration their use and the ever-evolving role of new technologies. You will learn to design spaces and environments that do not expose people to situations which might be dangerous to their health. You will also plan and design environments which support and promote health and well-being taking into consideration the physical and mental welfare of the users. During your studies with us, you will be able to recognise, understand and influence the links between people’s health and the spaces that we all live in: from historical, social, cultural and political perspectives, public health has probably had a greater impact on the design of our environment than anything else.
