Newcastle university has a beautiful campus right in the centre of the city! It’s great to be surrounded by such nice scenery and to be able to walk two minutes into the centre of newcastle to be around all the shops and restaurants the city has to offer. The staff on my course are very welcoming, well informed and interesting to listen to. I enjoy my course a lot. The students union is supportive, it has has plenty of places to talk, study, shop and eat too. My course has hardly any exams which is great for me as i struggle a lot with anxiety and find coursework much more manageable. The only problem I had at first with the uni was finding suitable accommodation as a mature student, as I didn’t want to be in first year halls being six years older than everybody else. It would be good for the future if the uni could implement or even be able to recommend suitable housing for someone a bit older.

The course hours in first year are great. Having three modules and three contact hours for each in my first term, the content is taught in a mix of online and offline and assessed through coursework in a variety of ways including group presentation, essays, reflective journals and blogging. I find the course content very interesting as i am passionate about a career in education.
