My overall experience has been really good at university. Obviously through covid and simply leaving home for the first time it has not been easy but the university has been good at supporting us.

I have really loved the facilities that are open on campus particularly the gym and newly built teaching and learning building. This year students have had to book to use the library which can be frustrating if I just want to borrow a book.

Well-being support has been really good through my experience. Through isolation everyone in my flat received daily phone calls from well-being and support which really helped. We also have termly meetings with our Personal tutors in which we can raise any concerns.

A lot of my tutors still represent the old white man stereotypes of scholars. As for online teaching at University risty I have not known any different so I don’t completely understand what I am missing out on. I can see that the tutors struggle to generate a debate and sustain it throughout the seminar over zoom which is both frustrating for the tutors and for us students. I think the flow of teaching has been disrupted which makes motivation on all sides (tutors and students) lack.
