Really friendly university city and geared for students. Many places for activities and also being so close to the peaks makes a great location overall. The most negative thing about the university is the sports facilities. These are seriously below par and although some improvements have been made recently, when looking at the facilities at other universities they are really letting the uni down. On the contrast, the engineering facilities are great and the study spaces at the university are really beneficial for everyone.

The course is very exam heavy, which as a personal preference I think is ridiculous. It can make it very demoralising when you work hard throughout the year and then one exam determines hours and hours of work. Especially when said exam is only 2/3 questions. It doesn't feel fair for the amount of work that goes into it. If you are good at taking exams however this would make the course significantly more enjoyable. The job prospects are great for my course though and some of the content I really enjoy and I feel that I have got a wide subject knowledge going forward.

I know the year after I moved out they renovated so the value for money may have been improved. However the halls were pretty good and there was good facilities within the student village which was cool.
