I would say that one of the best aspects of my uni experience so far is living with people in the same flat who are all experiencing a new life at uni at the same time as I am. We are all going through this new and exciting experience as a group and exploring everything university has to offer. A more difficult side of university is the navigation around a more independent learning system and keeping on top of the work load. While it may be difficult now though, I hope that with time and practice, it will become part of my everyday life.

Before coming to university I was a bit worried about my lack of knowledge on certain aspects of the course, for example, the sketching skills required. However, throughout my first semester at Loughborough we were taught how to sketch from scratch, enabling me to sketch at a level that I had never reached before. This evolution in my sketching ability has showed me that the skills and knowledge expected form us by the end of our 4 year course is not skills we are expected to know form the beginning, but ones that will be taught to us throughout the course. The more difficult side of the course for me would be the interpretation of assignments. With the education at university level being more independent, it is sometimes difficult to understand what we are supposed to be submitting at the end of each module, but as I mentioned previously, this should become something that gets easier with time.

I love how close my hall is to the student union and my corse. It makes my life a lot easier as I can spend more time being productive and less time waiting for the bus to arrive as most of the activities I am going to do are only a 10 minute walk from my accommodation. I couldn’t really say anything to be wrong with the accommodation, as I am really happy with living there.

Great uni from start to finish! Freshers was strong and Loughborough Design school has given me a brilliant platform to begin my career in Design. Compact Campus with everything on it. City life different and predominantly student atmosphere. Friendly and cheap nights out in town!

Joined String Orchestra and a variety of sports club. All welcome not matter the ability.
