As a part time distance learner I wanted a course that was flexible to work around my home/work life whilst providing long-distance support and guidance. This course suited those needs - I felt the tutors were accessible and approachable with in-depth knowledge of their subject area that enabled me to develop my own through discussions and research. Each module had a weekend of face-to-face study and follow up online Moodle and meetings - during Covid they quickly adapted to ensure learning wasn't stopped, yet were also flexible and understanding of the challenges this time brought to people. The library service was superb, with the staff able to source information required and support with obtaining the required resources for distance learning. I thoroughly enjoyed this course; it deepened my knowledge and expanded my views on Outdoor Education and it's place within societies and cultures and would highly recommend it to others in the industry keen to know more.

The course is broad in its depth of focus about Outdoor Education whilst allowing you to explore your own areas of interests. Initially when I started I had a narrow focus on what Outdoor Education meant to society and what the industry provides, now, after completing it my views have changed and I have learnt the potential Outdoor Education offers and my own preferences within it. The module face to face weekends were fantastic in meeting like minded others, sharing knowledge and information and supporting each other for the rest of the module assignments. In thoroughly enjoyed the activities on offer -bushcraft, health and well-being, solo camp (to name a few) and felt they gave deeper essence and experience to the subject. As stated previously, the course is ideal for those requiring a flexible, long-distance course to fit around work and home life. You have to be disciplined and dedicated as there is a lot of reading required, however, you are given guidance and support about how to use references, record ideas, cross-reference etc. which helps when it is dissertation time. Overall, I am very happy with this course, the tutors and all the support I've received over the years.

My overall uni experience so far of amazing, I couldn’t ask for a better uni, it has only been the first semester and I have been offered numerous qualifications and placements

Our student union is very good, they often put in activities for students to participate in such as quiz nights

All of your lecture rooms are a stones throw away and shops take less than 5 minutes to get to

There are endless amounts of sports and society’s to choose from which are all based on campus

I have no negatives for the course, the uni is always there to support me with work and other issues that may rise

The uni is very good at opening opportunities for students and help find them the right placement suited for them

The safety is very good and you get a good quality flat based on campus for a reasonable price
