Best thing I have done in my life, gave me independence, increased my confidence massively and allowed me to believe in myself and my work whilst moving to a completely new city and making great friends and relationships along the way

Great facilities, many food options to choose from, more computers and library space is needed and around the university alongside certain areas allocated to my course do feel out of date and forgotten with regards to the surrounding uni. Other than this amazing!

Feedback from Tutors is always good when you are with them, occasionally email responses may take time but that is understandable. Personal counselling I have not dealt with personally however I have heard that there is a long wait and inadequate care as such

The best location you could ask for. Directly in the center of everything.

Always a wide array that you are available to join and try, for example i personally tried Handball and then played women’s rugby for a year at Trent. Societies are just brilliant, with Ocean Wednesdays and all events linked to each one (I was personally apart of fashion) I am keen to try out the Gym when I am back tho.

Love the increase of seminars where you can complete work with the tutors there in an allocated room, gives you freedom to grab lunch/ go toilet without feel afraid or like you’re interrupting. The tutors are about for guidance but aren’t overwhelming, they give us space to be independent. The lectures however seem to go a miss, they aren’t always very focussed and often do not feel very relevant, much more work is achieved and understood outside of these.

Work Placement as previously discussed is a key factor to my course. The encouragement and the involvement from the uni is what drew me to go to Trent in the beginning. Best decision I have ever made. Staff have so many valuable connections within the industry and provide the best help

Overall, I have absolutely enjoyed every moment of it from start to finish. It is a really amazing opportunity to be able to experience what the real world is going to be like without straight away being dumped into the deep end. I have grown up and have realized things about myself that I had no idea before. I had a memorable experience and highly recommend University and Nottingham Trent to everyone. By the end of it I have completely fallen in love with the city and the course and it was an easy decision that I needed to find a job in Design and in Nottingham as I was not ready to say goodbye to the memories, the city and the university just yet.

Excellent. The lecture theatres are equipped with the latest technology that we need. The library is open 24 hours with on site support weather it is grammar checking dissertations or helping with research. The computer rooms all have the relevant design softwares that we are being taught to use which eliminates extra costs for the students in terms of buying expensive softwares. And last but not least there are plenty of cafes and foodhalls on campus.

Feedback from tutors can sometimes be confusing especially if it is feedback on the same question from different tutors but this is purely because of the nature of the course, everyone has their own design opinions. The uni is extremely supportive in terms of personal problems, I was able to turn to both my tutors and the counselor when I needed support which I received fast and in an efficient manner. It was made clear to us in the begging that we can turn to out tutors with any issues that we might have weather it is related to the course or not. I feel completely confident in talking to any of the staff at all times as I knew that they had my best interest in mind and that they wanted me to have a positive experience at University.

The SUs on all campuses are brilliant. They have recently been refurbished and serve perfectly to accommodate the different needs of the different locations. There are regular quiz nights, club nights and various other events like superbowl sunday and vintage sales. There are coffee shops and a restaurant in all of them as well as a small uni shop where you can get your basic library snacks and stationary as well.

It is smack down in the city center, a 5 minute walk to Victoria Shopping center and Old Market square. Shops, clubs and restaurants are all within easy reach and most accommodation is located within walking distance to campus.

There are loads of societies to choose from, and they have a weekly society night out in one of the night clubs so that you can interact with and get to know other societies as well as every week you are paired up with a different one.

Some courses could have more contact hour with the tutors in order to clarify and check what the students are doing especially in the first two years of the course. There could be a more in depth introduction to the workshop and possibly how the laser cutters work. The structure of the course has been put together in a good way and the tutors are always around and willing to help even when it is technically not their module that is being taught in the studio session, equally they are happy to answer questions and help out with different modules during their tutor times.

There is a lot of support given to second and final year students weather they are going on placement or trying to find a job after graduation. They help with prepping us for interviews, checking our CVs and portfolios and organizing industry nights with local industry professionals, where we can make connections and even find jobs. I got both my placement job as well as my graduate job with the help of the employability team the online job application portal where they list available placement and graduate jobs.
