Its such a friendly, welcoming uni! I would definitely try get involved on campus with societies or part-time work. I feel like UWE are constantly improving aswell. The SU is great at taking feedback and creating initiatives to support students for example the SU has recently started a drugs campaign where they want to offer support for people using regularly and needing more genuine support and guidance without fear of it affecting thier university reputation or getting into trouble for it.

My experience was a bit different due to COVID. However I love how UWE have implemented 24 online exams where they can instead of exam halls.

I hated being in lockdown in halls and feel like as a cohort we missed out on a lot. But I can see that otherwise its a fun enjoyable experience for new starters

The buildings for business and engineering are modern and have great lecture halls and places to study. The campus is spacious, there are plenty of areas to work and also to socialise. A lot of the teachers make an effort to improve lectures and seminars by making them enjoyable and interactive. Student support for IT issues and for help with course enquires could be improved.

Most lectures are in person which I find to be better than having them be online. In addition to having lectures, seminars make it easier to ask questions about the course content and what has been covered in the lectures.

Being able to live on campus makes it very convenient to get to lectures. The area feels safe with security being on campus and they are easy to contact if you have any issues. While it may be a bit pricey it is a good way to meet people if you are a first year student and having all bills included makes it a lot easier than other accommodation options.
