The uni and my department specifically are very supportive however, I know that this does vary massively between departments.

Contact time is okay for modules but both 3rd and 4th year are given little support for project modules.Teaching ability does vary massively and the teaching lab equiptment can be very outdated making experiments difficult.

The university offers a variety of support mechanisms to students throughout their degree and the facilities I have used as part of my Physics degree are in good shape.

The majority of lecturers on my course are genuinely interested in their field and have made studying a great experience. Certain aspects of the degree are not as organised as I would like them to be (in terms of content volume) but the student/staff committee is generally good at addressing those issues.
